For PMS to work correctly under Ubuntu you will also need to install all of the following. To check if you have them installed go to "transcoding Settings" in PMS. They can all be found and installed from the Ubuntu software center.
3. Now go to "Navigation/Share Settings" and down the bottom where it says shared folders, add a new folder by clicking the following button:
4. After that, click the save button at the top of the PMS window.
5. Now turn on your PS3 and it should show up in your PMS window and the PS3 media server icon should show up on your ps3. If it doesnt, go to Movies (or music or photos) on your ps3 and click search for media server.
6. If its still not showing up make sure media server connection is enabled on your ps3 under settings --> network settings --> media server connection.
